Tata Sky Broadband Free Landline Service: What We Know So Far
Tata Sky broadband is a subsidiary of Tata Sky and yet to make its mark in the broadband space. While Tata Sky is the leading DTH operator in the country and offers premium services to the customers, it has been struggling to make waves in the broadband space. As per the teaser on the website, the Tata Sky Broadband is now set to offer free landline service to its customers. However, there was no mention of the launch date or any service charges for the broadband connection
The move from the Tata Sky broadband comes at a time when it is struggling to cement its place in the broadband market. As per the latest TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) December 2019 data, Tata Sky Broadband fails to make the cut into the top 5 broadband service providers in the country. BSNL leads the pack with 8.39 million subscribers, Airtel, on the other hand, is a distant second with 2.42 million subscribers. ACT Fibernet takes the third position with 1.52 million subscribers, followed by Hathway in fourth place with 0.90 million subscribers. Reliance JioFiber takes the fifth position with 0.86 million subscribers. It remains to be seen how the new move from TataSky broadband would boost the company’s performance in the long run.
